After Franco’s death, and in the middle of the Transition, Spain experienced a period of underground cultural splendor that, influenced by the emergence of British punk, laid the foundations for a new artistic scene, especially music, which, in Valencia, starting from the initiative of a few entrepreneurs and visionaries, created the birth of some of the most innovative and advanced nightclubs in Europe. There the first DJs in the country began to operate, mixing the vinyl imported from London or brought by the intrepid record stores that began to proliferate in the city. Thus was born a culture of clubs whose bastions were discos such as Barraca, Chocolate, Espiral, Spook Factory, Puzzle, A.C.T.V or N.O.D.
